Death toll exceeds 1000 from Ebola in Congo

Death toll from the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) exceeded one thousand on Friday, while attacks on treatment centers have curbed efforts to control the second worst registered outbreak of the virus.

The Ministry of Health said 14 new deaths due to the virus were recorded, bringing the total to 1008 deaths from confirmed and likely injuries since the outbreak of the virus in August.
