One killed, several wounded after armed attack on hospital in Congo

One person was killed several injured in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) following an armed attack on a hospital in the epicenter of the Ebola outbreak in the country, WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Twitter.

According to ABC News on Friday, the attack took place in Butembo a city in North Kivu of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Congolese Ministry of Health confirmed the incident, noting at the same time it was not yet clear who the attacker was.

Efforts to deal with the spread of Ebola are hampered by many bloody attacks on health centers in Butembo and other areas.
