Zambia builds 1,000 communication towers funded by China

Zambian Minister of Transport and Communications Brian Mushimba said on Sunday that 600 communications towers were built last year and that another 400 towers will be completed this year across the country with funding of US $ 280 million from China.

The project to build the towers, which is due to be completed within three years, ahead of schedule.

The government is expected to build more than 1,000 communications towers by the end of this year out of 1009 towers expected to be completed within Three years, which will ensure the quality of coverage that includes Internet facilities and telecommunications in the country.

China and Zambia signed an agreement to finance the second stage of construction of communications towers in August 2017.
