US President Joe Biden is meeting with members of the security team after the Capitol incident.
The members of the Senate and the House of Representatives were not present in the Capitol building during the accident.
It is noteworthy that the Congress building was closed and that entry or exit was prohibited due to an “external threat”, pointing to the deployment of a number of forces to secure the building.
The vicinity of Congress witnessed gunfire, amid reports of injuries that have not yet been identified, while a video of the landing of a helicopter on the eastern side of the Congress building was broadcast in conjunction with its closure due to a security threat.
Capitol Police demanded that the people inside the building not go out, for the time being, noting that two officers were injured after someone hit them in front of a security barrier.
