Hurricane Dorian of Category 2 has finally arrived in the US, but weakened and been relegated to low category storm, as it moved along the coast of several states in southern and north Carolina, according to US weather experts.
According to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) in Miami, Dorian recorded a maximum wind speed of 175 kilometers per hour, falling from 180 kilometers per hour.
The NHC said, however, that Dorian continued to pose a threat to the Carolina coast.
“Dorian remains a strong typhoon, as the center of the storm moves near the south and northern coast of Carolina,” NHC said.
Earlier, the hurricane hit the Bahamas, and left 20 dead.
Hurricane Durian on Friday hit Cape Hatteras in North Carolina.
