Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez said that US support for economic development in Mexico and Central America is the best option for eradicating the flow of migrants.
The United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) on Monday laid out a road map for regional development, which the Mexican president described as progress towards a US agreement with the governments of the region.
The development plan calls on governments: Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Mexico to increase attention to spending on social welfare and reducing corruption to create an environment conducive to investment and economic development.
It should be noted that the United States and Mexico are in discussions on arrangements under which the US government will guarantee about $ 10 billion in development investments to Mexico and Central America.
