US President Donald Trump has reportedly fired national security adviser John Bolton following misunderstandings on foreign policy involving several countries, such as North Korea, Iran, Afghanistan and Russia.
“I told John Bolton that from last night, his services were no longer needed at the White House”.
“I disagree with many of his suggestions, just like anyone else in this administration”, Trump said on Twitter.
Trump said he would announce Bolton’s replacement next week.
Bolton is the third security adviser appointed by Trump, who wants the president to continue to put pressure on North Korea, despite various diplomatic efforts.
He also opposed Trump’s proposal to hold a meeting with the Iranian leadership and wanted a more rigorous approach to Russia and Afghanistan.
