New York police detains a man accused of panic at lower Manhattan station

New York Police detained a man accused of leaving two cooking utensils that resemble by pressing at lower Manhattan subway station, causing chaos among passengers during rush hour on Friday, authorities said.

Dermot Shea, a police official, said on Twitter that police had located the suspect, who was filmed by a camera, leaving the two inside the Manhattan Fulton street station.

This incident and the subsequent widespread response by the authorities led to the suspension of traffic and subway trains, and recalled explosions using similar devices in New York in 2016 and Boston in 2013.
