Peruvian opposition leader Keiko Fujimori released from prison

Peruvian opposition leader Keiko Fujimori was released from prison last night after being jailed for more than a year while awaiting trial, following allegations of illegal donation from Brazilian construction company Odebrecht to fund the campaign.

Keiko Fujimori, the leader of the right-wing party, Popular Troops, was seen witnessing a prison left in the Chorrillos, district of the Lima Province in Peru.

Peru’s highest court, the Constitutional Court on Monday, ordered the woman released after serving an 18-month pretrial last October.
