The US government, following a Supreme Court ruling, may use funds from the Department of Defense to build the Wall on the Mexican border. Donald Trump speaks of a “victory for border security”.

The US President Donald Trump may after one decision of the Supreme Court fall back on money from the Ministry of Defense for the construction of a wall on the border with Mexico. The Supreme Court overturned five-to-four votes on Friday evening to lower-level decisions.

Trump called the decision on twitter a big victory for border security and the rule of law.

A federal judge in California had issued a restraining order in May stating that Trump would not have been allowed to use wall construction funds that were not approved by Congress. An appeal court upheld this ruling.

Affected are two sections in Arizona and New Mexico, where the start of wall construction should be imminent. With Congress denying funds for construction, Trump wanted to borrow $ 2.5 billion from the Department of Defense budget.
