Actor starring popular television series The Walking Dead, Dango Nguyen passed away at age 48 yesterday, after a long battle with cancer.

The sad news was announced by the old office, the Athens-Clarke Fire and Emergency Department in Georgia on their Facebook account.

“Dango served as a sergeant with our department before leaving this career to join the entertainment industry.

“He served for 20 years before deciding to change direction. Once serving as a fireman, you are always our family.

“Dango is a very well known family member,” fire department said.

His previous career began as a wrestler with WWE legend Rob Van Dam before leaving the arena to raise a family.

The Athens-Clarke Fire Department said the deceased will be remembered as a member of extraordinary strength and endurance, and often acted swiftly.

The deceased left a wife and several children.
