US President Donald Trump and his sons sued two major banks to prevent them from handing over financial records of the family to congressional committees that have issued summonses to obtain information about them, CNN reported.

The network said on Tuesday that this is Trump’s second attempt this month to block the Democrat-led House from investigating his financial history. The lawsuit filed in the southern province of New York against Deutsche Bank, one of Trump’s lenders and Capital One.

Trump’s lawyers said both banks “have long provided commercial and personal banking services to plaintiffs.” “The summons were issued mentioning to harass President Donald Trump with aspect of his personal assets, companies, information about the president and his family, and to exploit any material that could be used to cause political harm,” they wrote in the complaint filed Monday.
