Trump desires to meet Britain’s new prime minister soon

US President Donald Trump expressed his desire to meet with new British Prime Minister Boris Johnson “in the near future” during a telephone conversation on Monday.

The White House said in a statement that the two leaders discussed trade and international security issues among other issues.
Trump expressed appreciation for the UK’s partnership with the United States, saying he looked forward to meeting Johnson “in the near future,” according to the Hill.

The meeting is likely to be held on the sidelines of the G7 summit in France this month.
