US President Donald Trump said US economy is still growing and far from any recession, adding that his administration is considering the possibility of tax cuts.

“We’re looking at different tax cuts, I’m looking at it all the time”, one of the reasons why Washington is in a strong economic situation”, Trump told a news conference with his Romanian counterpart Klaus Iohanis at the White House, according to CNN television on Tuesday.

The US president noted that he was considering a wage tax cut, saying many wanted it.

Trump said the US economy was doing well, but “in fact someone had to face China, and it doesn’t matter whether it is good or bad in the short term”.

In 2017, Trump signed the largest tax adjustment since the 1980s, cutting the corporate tax rate to 21% from 35%.
