The closure of the crossing on the border with Mexico comes a day after a Guatemalan immigrant died of flu in a Texas detention center, Voice of America radio said in its English edition.

The US  authorities closed the crossing  after the symptoms of severe fever and flu in large number of migrants, VoA added.

A Guatemalan immigrant, aged 15, died on Monday in a Texas immigration detention center, raising the number of deaths among immigrants from the country since December to five.
