US billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, accused in the case of child sex trafficking, has committed suicide, the Bloomberg news agency quoted as saying.

According to ABC News, citing three law enforcement officials, Epstein committed suicide in his cell in Lower Manhattan, New York. The New York Post reported that a man similar to Epstein was taken out on a stretcher from the Manhattan Correctional Center at 7:30 am, and the ambulance went to a hospital in central New York.

Epstein was taken to a suicide control unit after he was found unconscious in his cell and there were signs on his neck on July 23, a week after the bail application was rejected.

This came after court documents revealed new details in the Abistine case on Friday, including the fact that he presented a minor girl for shameful acts to a number of prominent men, including Prince Andrew, son of Britain’s Queen.
