The US House of Representatives voted on Wednesday to delay a bill to hold President Donald Trump in jail for the purpose of isolating him, which effectively foils the action at the moment but does not end the case that divided the Democrats.
Democratic Rep. Al Green, the sponsor of the decision, sought to capitalize on the growing criticism of Trump after his recent attacks on minority congressional members.
The Council voted 332 to 95 in favor of the suspension.
Al Green had twice failed to pass an accountability decision, but on Wednesday was the first time the whole council had addressed the issue since Democrats took the majority this year.
