Nine people were killed in a head-on shooting incident in Dayton, Ohio, early this morning.
Police said an attacker was shot dead by officers who responded to the shooting during the incident.
Ohio Police Lieutenant Colonel Matt Carper said the incident happened around 1 a.m. at a bar and nightclub located in the Oregon area, Ohio.
“We identified a shooter and knew there were many victims.
“He died of a serious injury after being shot by a police officer who responded to the shooting.
“There have been nine deaths and we estimate there are more than 16 victims taken to hospitals where their condition is unknown,” he told reporters.
Carper said the suspect fired shots at the road using a long shotgun.
He said police were currently trying to determine the identity of the shooter and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) was at the scene to provide any assistance.
This was the second shooting incident in 24 hours, in Texas 20 citizens were killed today.
