US prepares to arrest thousands of migrant families

Trump calls on Democratic congressional members of foreign origin to return where they came from

Washington is preparing to carry out raids, backed by US President Donald Trump, to arrest thousands of unlicensed family members in the United States on Sunday after having been partially delayed due to an objection, Officials from the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency, officials at the US Department of Homeland Security and a former ministry official said.

The officials, who declined to be identified because the operation was still in its initial phase, said the raid, which the agency is scheduled to undertake within days, would include “extra” deportations of migrants, noting that during these operations the authorities may detain other immigrants if they happen to be in the location of raids, even if they were not targeted, quoted the NY Times on its website.

Officials said the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency is targeting at least 2,000 migrants who have been ordered to be deported and is expected to include at least 10 major US cities.
