U.S. stocks rallied higher on Tuesday with buyer’s confidence over the state of U.S.-China trade talks.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +1.09% advanced around 256 points, or 1.1%, to 23,788, based on preliminary numbers.

The S&P 500 SPX, +0.97% climbed 1% to finish near 2,574. The Nasdaq Composite COMP, +1.08% rose 1.1% to end around 6,897.

Trade talks between Beijing and Washington were extended to Wednesday amid reports that recent negotiations were making gradual progress, even if a final deal remains far away.

In corporate news, shares of Boeing Co. BA, +3.79% rose 3.8% after the aerospace firm reported fourth-quarter airplane deliveries were above expectations.
