Iranian President’s office spokesperson Mahmoud Vaezi said that there is no scheduled meeting between President Hassan Rouhani and the US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the upcoming 73rd United Nations General Assembly in New York, noting that the recent remarks of Iranian President misread by the media.

Mahmoud Vaezi released the statement after the misinterpretation of Rouhani’s remarks that said that he was willing to hold talks with any country to safeguard Iran’s national interests.

The Iranian news agency Tasnim, in its publication, quoted and preached that the meeting with Trump was never on the agenda of Rouhani, and said that the Iranian president’s statements were politicized by foreign and local media for specific purposes.
