President Donald Trump wants the impeachment trial to go ahead in the Senate because he will be treated fairly there, and he expects Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden to be among the witnesses, White House spokesman Hogan Gidley said on Thursday.

“President Trump wants a trial in the Senate because it is obviously the only House where he can expect fairness and fair treatment under the Constitution”, Gidley said in a statement.

“We expect to finally hear witnesses who have already testified and may have been involved in corruption, including Adam Schiff, Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, and so-called information leaks, to name a few”, the White House spokesman said.

Adam Schiff, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, is leading the investigation into Trump’s accountability.
