Afghan officials said 17 policemen were killed in separate attacks by the Taliban in different parts of the country.
A spokesman for the northern province of Badakhshan, Mohammad Nazari, said on Friday that three policemen were killed in a clash that is still underway in the area of ”Arganj Khwa”“He said.
For his part, said Ghazni district police chief Ghulam Daoud Terah Khel that the Taliban launched large-scale attacks in the eastern province and targeted two checkpoints on Thursday; killing nine policemen, adding that the movement suffered heavy losses after fighting hours of firearms.
In turn, deputy chairman of the Council of the “Zabul” Asadullah Qaqer killed five policemen in the region, “Shinki” in the province, located in southeastern Afghanistan in an attack yesterday.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for the three attacks on its speaker, Zabihullah Mujahid.
Separately, the spokesman for the governor of the province of “Laghman” in eastern Afghanistan, Asadullah Doltsai, killing two people, including a child, after a mortar hit their house yesterday.
