222 deaths, hundreds injured in Indonesia volcano eruption

After the volcano burst on Saturday night in the Sunda Gulf of Indonesia, Tsunami caused a terrible catastrophe in the tourists’ beaches and coastal areas. So far 222 people have died due to the 16 feet waves that occurred during the tsunami.

Indonesian authorities stated that more than 800 people have been injured and 30 people were looted.

The affected areas are still being tried to deliver emergency services.

Apart from this, hundreds of people have to take refuge in the governor’s office in Bandar Lamphong, South Sumatra.

The disaster management agency said that hundreds of buildings have been damaged by the tsunami. Most of the deaths occurred in Pandanglong, southern Lampang and Serang areas.

Disaster management agencies feared death toll may increase.

Indonesia’s Meteorological Department told that after the cracking of the Krakatoa volcano on Saturday, at 9:27 a.m. the high waves of the sea near South Sumatra and western Java, broke the shores, causing many houses to be destroyed.
