At least 30 people have been killed, including several children after a home made matchstick plant set on fire in Binjai, North Sumatra , local authorities confirmed.

Pictures at the scene showed that some dead bodies were in contact with each other on the floor of the factory which burned in the afternoon.

Most corpses are difficult to identify because they are circumscribed.

“We do not know the cause of the fire but it has already been eradicated,” said North Sumatra rescue chief, Riadil Lubis.

He said, at least three children were killed in the incident.

“We have sent troops there to investigate this incident,” he explained.
