Afghan army commander killed in bomb blast in southern Afghanistan

Brig. Gen. Zahirgul Muqbil, an army commander of Afghan border forces was killed Saturday morning when a roadside bomb exploded in Marjah district of southern Helmand province.

The spokesman for the governor of Helmand province, Omar Zwak, said that the commander of the Afghan army border battalion was killed and three security forces and a local journalist were injured in the attack. Marjah area when their car hit a roadside bomb.
