Afghanistan: Ten Taliban militants were killed and at least eight others wounded in ground operations and airstrikes by security forces in the northern province of Balkh in Afghanistan, the Afghan army said on Wednesday.

The spokesperson of Shaheen 209 Corp of the Afghan army, in a statement reported by the Afghan news agency Khama Press, on Saturday, that the military operations targeted Ezatullah Sabawoon (the shadow governor of the Taliban in the Chahar Bolak district) in Balkh province.

The statement added that security forces were able to kill 10 militants belonging to the Taliban, in addition to the injury of eight others, while the Afghan army likely killed Ezatullah Sabawoon during the military operations. The Taliban did not comment on the statement of the Afghan army so far.
