An earthquake of magnitude 5 hits Japan

An earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale hit an area near Okinawa Island in Japan on Wednesday morning, and the Japan Meteorological Center said that the epicenter of the earthquake was 40 kilometers below the surface of the earth, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

No tsunami warnings were issued and there were no immediate reports of casualties or material losses.
