Australia on Monday ruled out the deployment of US missiles to its territory following talks with US foreign and defense ministers.

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison told AFP,  24 hours after US Defense Secretary Mark Esper and Foreign Secretary Mike Pompeo left Sydney after talks.

For her part, said Australian Defense Minister Linda Reynolds, “The area of deployment of US missiles has not yet been determined, but ruled out that Australia be included”.

US marines regularly carry out rotational operations in the city of Darwin, sparking speculation that US  missiles may be deployed in the northern city after the United States withdrew last Friday from the mid-range nuclear weapons treaty with Russia.
