Nine people were killed on Saturday as a result of Hurricane Vani, which hit northeast Bangladesh, causing winds exceeding 200 kilometers per hour.
According to the Bangladesh media, nine people were killed in the Bargona district on the coast, while lightning strike killed five in the northern region of Kishoreganj.
Bangladesh officials said more than 1.6 million people had reached to the shelters, and 36 coastal villages had been flooded after dams were damaged, confirming at least 2,000 houses destroyed.
It is worth mentioning that the toll of the victims of Hurricane “Vani” in the state of “Odessa” in eastern India on Saturday rose to 12 people, more than one million people were evacuated to 4000 relief centers.
