Cambodian court Tuesday claimed seven individuals, including five Chinese nationals on an accidental murder and conspiracy charge, after 28 dead in Chinese-owned building collapsed, in Sihanoukville, on Saturday.

The incident also forced the Prime Minister, Hun Sen sacked the senior officials of the country’s disaster management committee.

At present, investigating teams are trying to identify the cause of steel construction and concrete structures, the seven-storey building collapsed without warning, to trap construction workers sleeping at construction sites.

The last two surviving victims were found Tuesday. The port and resort town of Cambodia saw the influx of investments from China over the past few years, specially in the tourism, property and casino sectors.

It poses a question Cambodia, the level and quality of Chinese construction in the area.

According to the Preah Sihanouk District Court, the prosecutor charged two Chinese nationals, Chen Kun, and construction supervisor, Deng Xing Gui for accidental murder and other injuries.

The court document also states that three more Chinese, a Vietnamese and Cambodian people were charged on the conspiracy allegations.

On Monday, Hun Sen sacked senior state disaster management officer for failing to take responsibility for the incident, Prime Minister also accepted the resignation of Preah Sihanouk, Governor Yun Min.

The top-level resignation of national leadership for any misconduct is extremely rare in Cambodia.

The accident also caused people’s dispute over Chinese business practices in the country, and even critics claimed they were allowed to operate without any supervision.
