China is currently seeking to build a “magnetic” train that can travel more than 600 kilometers an hour, making it a match for airspeed, Russian news network reported.
The train is based on magnetic propulsion, which eliminates friction problems and provides greater speed. The new train is expected to be more comfortable for passengers as it will move with less noise and less vibration for the cabins.
In 2017, China inaugurated the Fuxing Railway, which links the cities of Beijing and Shanghai, at a distance of 1,300 kilometers and at a speed of 350 kilometers per hour.
The journey between Beijing and Shanghai is three and a half hours, while the commercial plane takes four and a half hours due to airport procedures, according to the deputy head of the engineering department of the project company.
Japan conducted a test in 2015, breaking the record, with a train speed of 603 kilometers per hour.
