Chinese home appliance giant “Orvibo” leaks the data of one million users

Orvibo Chinese smart home appliances company displayed the data of its users including their passwords, e-mails and other sensitive information have raised the concerns worldwide.

According to Daily Mail, a group of researchers revealed the leak of Orvibo’s customer database, which includes user names, e-mail addresses and passwords.

The researchers tried to notify Chinese company Orvibo about the problem of leaking data on customers, but have not received a response so far from mid-June.

The company is known to manufacture more than 100 intelligent home products, and researchers report that the breakthrough seems to affect customers worldwide, including China, Japan, Thailand, the United States, the United Kingdom, Mexico, France, Australia and Brazil.

“More than 1 million users have installed Chinese products in their homes and businesses,” said the researchers. “The data leakage problem is as accurate as the Chinese company has in customer data according to the smart home appliances they use.”

The company also produce smart home security systems.

“From the data leaked by the Chinese company, e-mail addresses, passwords, reset codes, precise geographical location of the home, IP address, user name, identity and last name, type of smart device used.
