Dengue has taken 52 lives in Sri Lanka this year

In Sri Lanka 52 people have died and thousands have been affected by dengue this year. The information department of Sri Lanka revealed the information on Monday.

According to the report released by the epidemiological unit, Colombo district has been most affected by dengue. 9,500 cases of dengue were reported in this district.

Not only in Colombo, 5,400 cases were registered in Gampaha district. The third number is Batticaloa district. In this district 4,700 case of dengue were registered.

The department advised the people to report doctor with high fever, persistent vomiting, abdominal pain, dizziness and urine complaints.

Sri Lanka population (as of 2018 around 20.95 million) which is equivalent to 0.27% of the total world population.

The epidemiological center said that all patients suffering from fever should be rested and avoid work and school.

Chinese government has warned the nationals touring Sri Lanka of precautionary measures.

Sri Lanka attract around 2.1 million tourists, mostly from China
