Benny Gantz, head of the Blue-White coalition, said Monday that he will meet with Yisrael Beiteinu leader Avigdor Lieberman on Tuesday as part of efforts to form a new government.

“We will be ready to consider some compromises as long as they coincide with our vision”,  Gantz said at the start of the Blue-White coalition meeting, stressing the need to form a unity government and not go for a third election. To the unity government, to avoid a third election within a year.

Gantz noted that he sent a letter to the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, saying: “For a month and you refuse to discuss the fundamental issues of concern to the Israeli citizens, send your delegation to conduct genuine and honest negotiations”.

For his part, Avigdor Lieberman, during the meeting of the parliamentary bloc of his party said that he would vote for a unity government even if it is not a coalition, Lieberman again called on Netanyahu and Gantz to form a government of national unity as soon as possible and warned of a third election.
