All schools will be suspended from Friday to Sunday due to transportation and transportation problems, the Hong Kong Education Office said.

The office made the announcement in a statement and urged students to stay away from violence.

Anti-government protests paralyzed parts of Hong Kong for the fourth consecutive day on Thursday, shutting down schools, highways and other transport links and disrupting the financial center amid a marked escalation of violence.
