The Government of Indonesia has returned 49 containers of waste to their countries of origin.
The containers have been returned to the United States, Germany, France, Hong Kong and Australia.
In the past months, 250 waste containers have been returned to their countries of origin, and the Indonesian authorities are currently examining more than 1,000 containers as part of their efforts, to prevent Indonesia from becoming a landfill for other countries, customs officials said in Jakarta.
