Iran do not seek war, we will defend our interests: Zarif

The Iranian foreign minister in a statement to the Russian news agency on Tuesday said that Iran could reconsider some of the restrictions provided in the nuclear agreement if Europe did not meet its obligations. He said that Iran do not seek war, we will defend our interests in the event of American attack.

Zarif’s statement came on the eve of his arrival in Moscow with a high-level delegation, which is expected to hold talks tomorrow with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov to discuss the latest regional developments and current global issues.

The two ministers will hold talks on extending the cooperation program between the Iranian and Russian foreign ministries. A bilateral protocol will be signed to facilitate the travel conditions of the nationals of both countries.

The visit of the Iranian foreign minister to the Russian capital Moscow coincides with the first anniversary of the US withdrawal from the nuclear deal with Iran on May 8, 2018.
