Iran summons British ambassador after accusations of attack on two tankers

The Iranian government summoned the British ambassador in Tehran on Saturday after Britain blamed Iran for the attack on two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman, the ISNA news agency reported..

“During the meeting with the Iranian Foreign Ministry official, Iran strongly criticized Britain’s unacceptable position on the attack in the Gulf of Oman … Britain is the only country to support US accusations of attack” Iranian officials said.

British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt issued a statement on Friday blaming Iran and Iran’s Revolutionary Guards for the attack on oil tankers, saying no country or other unofficial body could do so.
