An Iranian soldier shot 3 policemen and killed them, on Saturday, in the south of the country, according to the Iranian semi-official Fars agency.
The accident took place in a police station near the coastal city of Bandar Lengeh, Hormozgan province of Iran, about 1,000 kilometers south of the capital, Tehran. The agency stated that the soldier was arrested immediately, and an investigation was launched into the incident, while no details were provided about the motive or the rank of the policemen.
Iranian media have previously reported such incidents. In 2016, a soldier shot himself after killing 3 of his colleagues in the south of the country, and experts blame anger over the two-year compulsory military service for men aged 19 and over, according to the Associated Press.
