Israel pledged to cooperate with the United States to prevent Palestinian attempts to gain full membership status within the United Nations as it would give international recognition to the Palestinian state.

Palestinian Authority’s Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki said yesterday that he would send the United Nations security council a request for the full membership, next month.

“We are ready to prevent this initiative. Palestinians pay for terrorism and promote terrorism, but want to become UN members.

“The policy of the Palestinian authority has encouraged many recent terrorist attacks and we will prevent their attempts with US delegation,” Israel’s UN Ambassador, Danny Danon said.

diplomat said that any Palestinian action to get UN membership will face US veto in the Security Council.
