Japan: North Korea fired a missile that landed in the economic zone

North Korea fired a missile that landed in the exclusive economic zone of Japan off Shimane province, a government spokesman said Wednesday.

North Korea also fired an unidentified projectile on Wednesday, Yonhap news agency quoted South Korean military as saying.

The Joint Chief of Staff of South Korea said the projectile was fired Wednesday morning from an area near Wonsan in Kangwon province towards the sea eastward, the agency quoted.

A spokesman for the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff was not available for comment
