Famous K-pop star Sulli has been targeted for extreme online commentary today at her home, South Korean police said.
Sulli’s body, a former member of the famous K-pop f(x) group, was found by her manager at her residence on the outskirts of Seoul.
Police said in a statement that the 25-year-old was suffering from severe emotional distress.
However, the cause of Sulli’s actual death is still under investigation.
Sulli or Choi Jin-ri’s real name was also known for fighting for women’s rights after a long time of being bullied and harassed online.
She joined the f (x) group in 2009 and was one of the world’s leading female K-pop star.
Sulli resigned from the art world in 2014 after struggling with cyberbullies and left the group a year later to venture into acting.
She has been active on social media and recently runs a TV series where celebrities talk about their experiences with harassment and online bullying.
Sulli’s death has shocked K-pop music fans worldwide.
