Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday in comments posted on his official website that Iranian youth would see the demise of Israel and the American civilization.

“Believe young people that you will witness the demise of the enemies of humanity, the American civilization and the demise of Israel,” Khamenei said in a meeting with university students and representatives of student committees.

He said that the approval of the nuclear agreement was due to the leader of the Islamic revolution. “Of course, you have intelligence and you have eyes that you can see and understand. It is clear in the letter to officials on the nuclear agreement the conditions for its approval. In that letter, I mentioned the conditions for approving the nuclear agreement” Khamenei said.

“I did not think much of the nuclear agreement in that picture achieved by we have repeatedly said this to the President of the Republic and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and directed them to several observations in this regard.” he added

Tension between Iran and the United States has escalated after Washington beefed up its military presence in the Middle East, including sending an aircraft carrier, B-52 bombers and Patriot missiles in a show of force against what US officials say is Iranian threats to US forces and interests in the region.

Khamenei said last week there would be no war with the United States.

US President Donald Trump withdrew from the nuclear deal with Iran last year and re-imposed sanctions on Tehran, saying the deal did not address its missile program and what it sees as its malignant influence in the region.
