The Storm, which was accompanied by heavy rain, has killed 28 people so far, noting that the number of casualties is expected to rise due to continued bad weather.

Nepalese authorities have pushed army troops to help rescue operations, while Prime Minister Khadija Prasad canceled his first visit to the western regions of the country to go to the storm-hit areas to follow up relief operations.

Helicopters are expected to begin later in the day to transport the injured from the affected villages to hospitals for treatment.
