Pakistan Army said Tuesday that its country’s security forces are ‘doing everything’ to support the people of Kashmir’s conflict-ridden region after India’s main rivals have canceled special status in the region.

“The Pakistan army stands strong in support of the people of Kashmir in their struggle to the end.

“We are ready and willing to do whatever we can to fulfill our responsibilities in the matter,” said Pakistan Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa after a meeting with top commanders in Rawalpindi.

Yesterday, India repealed constitutional provisions for the state of Jammu and Kashmir, which had long been a turning point in relations with Pakistan, to enact their own laws.
