At least three people have been killed in an attack on a construction company in eastern Afghanistan. Another six were injured, Nangarhar provincial government spokesman Attaullah Khogyani said Wednesday. They are employees of the company.
According to Khogyani, several attackers stormed the company Wednesday morning. Two suicide bombers blew themselves up and three others were killed by security forces.
According to local media reports, the company is located near the airport of Jalalabad, the provincial capital of Nangarhar, and performs maintenance work at the airport. American troops are also stationed at the airport.
According to the UN report on civilian casualties in Afghanistan, the province of Nangarhar recorded the second highest number of civilian casualties after Kabul in 2018.
The Taliban militia is currently negotiating with representatives of the US government in Qatar for an end to the fighting in Afghanistan.
