US forces in Afghanistan launched an air strike on the province of Ghazni in the southeast of the country; killing one of the leaders of the Taliban and a number of elements of the organization.

According to the agency Khamaa Press, quoted a statement of Afghan forces on Tuesday that the  US corps Thunder 203 raid targeted the Tasan region of Ghazni province, killing a Taliban commander and five other militants.

The statement did not specify the identity of the dead commander during the air strike.

The statement also said that Afghan forces clashed with Taliban militants in the area of ​​Qarabagh in the same province; killing two militants and wounding three others.

At least two Taliban were killed and six others wounded in clashes with Afghan security forces in Ghazni province.
