Three Afghan policemen were killed and three others wounded in an armed attack on a security post near the Seventh Police District in the Afghan city of Kabul.

The Afghan news agency Khaama Press quoted officials at the Kabul police headquarters as saying that the incident took place in Dugabad district on Sunday, killing three policemen and wounding three others, adding that the militants fled the area after storming the security center.

For its part, the Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, claiming the killing of eight policemen in the attack.

It was the second attack on a security site in Kabul in less than a week, with at least four  police soldiers lost their lives in a similar attack in the city area a few days ago.
