A state of sadness and sorrow among citizens in Brazil, especially in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro, due to floods caused by the heavy rains that covered large areas of the city amid expectations of dozens of dead and injured.
The authorities announced Tuesday that at least three people were killed, and the American network ABC said sirens had been launched in 21 areas within the city’s flood risk to alert citizens to go to safe places. The streets and the trees were uprooted.
For his part, the mayor of the city Marcelo Crivella said the city is in a crisis, and called on citizens to stay indoors if they can.
